ACASC

The ACA Sports Council is a professional and educational nonprofit organization for active chiropractors who are committed to improving and promoting chiropractic treatment of athletes. We work closely with athletic organizations and allied health professionals to foster better understanding of the value of chiropractic care in sports medicine and treatment.

We advocate for issues that affect sports chiropractic practice, such as the right to make return-to-play decisions after an athlete has suffered a concussion and the right to travel to treat athletes across state lines using their trained skill set.

We constantly improve our education related to sports injuries, including writing articles, books and book chapters on sports injuries, and developing Sports Master's programs at some chiropractic schools. For more than 40 years, we have organized our annual symposium and general membership meeting, which includes many educational sessions for members to earn continuing education units.

Additionally, our Student Sports Councils offer students a great opportunity to get involved early in their careers and gain practical sports chiropractic experience by participating in sporting events as part of a medical team. Find out more about student membership.

Members of the ACA Sports Council have provided chiropractic care to elite competitive athletes at the Olympics, Pan Am Games, World Games, All African Games, All Mediterranean Games, Sea Games, Central American and Carribbean Games, and other regional competitions. Our organization has established contacts at the U.S. Olympics Committee, the International Olympic Committee, the World Olympian Association, and other global sports organizations.

All ACA Sports Council members must be members of the American Chiropractic Association. The ACA Sports Council does not endorse any doctor of chiropractic, health care provider or facility.
