Position Information:

The primary purpose of this entry-level position is to develop an expert in the field of Human Performance through the means of instruction and intern supervision while in the field, being an expert on the topic of sports care and providing lectures on such topics, supervising student research projects in the field of Human Performance and self-development.

This is a full-time, benefits eligible opportunity. Due to the nature of the position some late afternoons, early evenings and occasional Saturdays are expected covering athletic games and supervision.

Work Location: Bloomington, MN with flexibility to work 1-2 days per week remotely; must live local and be able to come to campus as needed.

Duties:

The fellow will be expected to:

  • Support the University in a Classroom environment, or other as directed, for a minimum of ten hours per week
  • Instruct classes as assigned by the Director such as, but not limited to: Intern supervision, Sports Physicals, Head Injuries in Sports, Advanced Extremities, Athletic Taping, etc.
  • Provide sports care coverage as directed for local schools and other athletic teams
  • Contribute to his/her own research interest(s) and other projects at the University
  • Offer mentorship to the interns and other students
  • Follow the CCE Residency Program Standards
  • Other duties as directed by the HPC Director

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Chiropractic or other related health care professional degree required
  • Doctor of Chiropractic license required or ability to obtain license
  • 1-3 years experience preferred

Other Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proven clinical skills required
  • Experience in teaching, student supervision, research and leadership
  • Preferred certifications include Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP), International Certificate Sports Chiropractic (ICSC) Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Athletic Trainer Certification (ATC) and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 45lbs weight bars and plates

Chiropractor Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient consultations by reviewing health and medical histories; questioning, observing and examining patients; and reviewing x-rays, as indicated.
  • Evaluate patients’ neuromusculoskeletal systems and the spine using chiropractic diagnosis to determine neuromusculoskeletal and spine related conditions.
  • Understand and know all Sports Orthopedic tests
  • Perform manual adjustments to the spine, or other articulations of the body, to correct the musculoskeletal system.
  • Know your Anatomy like the back of your hand.
  • Obtain and record patients’ medical histories.
  • Arrange for diagnostic x-rays to be taken.
  • Analyze digital imaging (MRI and Radiographs) to locate the sources of patients’ difficulties and rule out fractures or diseases as sources of problems.
  • Maintain accurate case histories of patients.
  • Educate patients on Movement
  • Provide a patient with educational resources and a recommended course of treatment.
  • Acupuncture
  • Soft tissue CE is a PLUS

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Doctorate of Chiropractic

Performance Sport and Spine is seeking a full time Sports Chiropractor to join our team.  Candidate must be confident with evaluation and treatment skills in the clinical as well as the sideline medical settings.

Looking for a Licensed DC to join an established sports medicine practice in Massachusetts. Practice has contracts with the current Major League Rugby Team the New England Freejacks, and WMI Global. Associate doctor will have to have a CCSP or work towards one, and must possess excellent communication skills, diagnostic skills, manual skills, as well as top notch adjusting skills.
