Spondylolisthesis

Spondylolisthesis involves a displacement of the spinal vertebrae so that one sits on top of another, which may be caused by degeneration, congenital defect, trauma or other factors. Patients with this condition may experience severe leg and back pain, muscle weakness and tingling, while other patients may not experience any symptoms at all.

Mild cases of spondylolisthesis can often be treated through observation and rest, while more severe cases may require surgery to restore the displaced vertebra back to its original location. Surgery is most often needed for patients experiencing nerve pressure

Spondylolisthesis occurs when one vertebrate moves forward in relation to the one above it and below it.
