Our practice specializes in evaluating and treating a variety of conditions, from chronic low back and neck pain, to rehabilitation following an accident or injury, to proper nutrition and detoxification. We also provide rehabilitation and education designed for improving or correcting your diet or posture, creating a healthier workplace, and increasing the overall quality of your health. We are available for lectures in the local area. Our goal is to help you achieve and maintain optimal health by shifting emphasis toward creating 100% function and not simply removal of symptoms. By correcting the cause, improving your posture and removing the blockages in the nervous system and channels of energy in the body that prevent normal healing from occurring, the mind and body can communicate clearly and the healing process can be completed. Health is only possible when the mind and body are communicating without interference allowing all the organs of the body to function properly.

    David Dow's Story

The story of my back problems started at birth! Due to a difficult breach birth and the use of forceps, my right neck and shoulder nerves were damaged and I immediately developed Erb’s palsy and my right arm was paralyzed for a month.GOTR111211.jpg Later, when I started to learn to write, I used my stronger left arm and developed a sideways tilt to my head and shoulders along with a curvature to my spine (scoliosis). This was recently corrected however with corrective chiropractic care methods. As a young teen, a trampoline injury tore a ligament in my upper back and I immediately developed intense heartburn symptoms along with low back pain. Running cross-country in high school brought on shin splints which caused even more pain in my body. I tried to alleviate some of this pain with different chiropractors over several years, but only got temporary relief due to not finding the right technique for my situation. Recent advances in the science of running and understanding of foot rehabilitation and arch support and scoliosis correction have helped tremendously. When it came time to choose a career path though I decided to go to a school that offered chiropractic and acupuncture training. I really felt that these two approaches were what I wanted to use to help others. And, even though my own pain persisted for 10 years after I started my private practice, I continued to study different modalities in my profession to help others. Luckily, I went to my first Pettibon chiropractic workshop and it changed my life forever and how I help others! At that workshop I learned about Dr. Pettibon’s theories and about the wobble chair which strengthens and stabilizes muscles in the lower back and benefits lumbar disc pain. I tried it immediately and found the most relief I had ever had! Dr. Pettibon, a mechanical engineer initially, who became a chiropractor, used the theories of engineering, to help correct the curves in the spine. Chiropractic Biophysics training has helped with correcting some of the more difficult spinal curvature situations with spinal molding and mirror image exercises. I also learned how to run barefoot and that technique also provided incredible benefit. I put these various techniques together to learn how to shift the stress of gravity from one side of the body to the other to balance the body and correct problems up and down the body, and how they can also help correct many health problems such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, lupus and rheumatoid by realigning the upper neck strengthening the postural muscles and reducing spinal cord, brainstem, cranial nerve and cerebellar irritation. This protects the autonomic nervous system in the brainstem and theresults have been amazing. See some of my testimonials.
