About 80 percent of the U.S. population will experience disabling, low back pain at least once during

their lives! That's almost all of us. The problem is so bad that about half of those people are suffering to the point that it severely limits their daily routine for at least a week. That's not even taking into account the numerous flare-ups of their problem throughout the entire year!

That's a lot of bad backs. The estimated cost of this problem in the U.S. is over $50 billion a year.

Pain is a check engine light on your dashboard and should not be ignored. It is a sign that something is wrong, and if left untreated more serious problems may develop. I look at your life as being a snowball rolling down a mountain. As time progresses your body accumulates more and more stress and damage. Getting to the root of the problem is what will increase the quality and quantity of your life.

The standard medical approach to back pain varies depending on the severity of the condition. Medications such as painkillers and muscle relaxers often ignore the cause and just treat the symptoms. If that's the case, the underlying problem will get worse. If physical therapy is recommended, the results are minimal compared to other treatment options and malfunctioning joints may undergo stress. Surgeries are dangerous and results with spinal surgery are often minimal. According to some studies, most spinal surgery for acute lower back problems should be rarely performed. A small percentage of surgery can bring long-term relief, but undergoing surgery is dangerous due to the procedure itself and the anesthesia. Many people who have had back surgery even report a recurrence of their symptoms within a year or two of the operation and may return to the operating table. In some cases, the surgery makes no difference whatsoever.

Remember, your spine is a bony structure made up of 24 moving vertebra. There are also gel-filled discs between the vertebra that need to be evaluated, as well as the surrounding musculature designed to protect the spine like armor. Therefore, it is absolutely essential to evaluate each piece of your spine's "jigsaw puzzle" in order to determine where your problem is coming from. After a neurological examination and potential x-rays and MRI's, I will determine the exact nature of your condition.

We leave no stone left unturned in order to identify your problem. We will then address each puzzle piece and help change your life with all the advanced treatments that we have to offer!
