Texas Chiropractic College to Sponsor 300 hour two-year Diplomate Program in Clinical Nutrition

Texas Chiropractic College is proud to sponsor a 300-hour two-year Diplomate Program in Clinical Nutrition with a Functional Medicine component at the Texas Chiropractic College. This program has been sponsored by several Chiropractic Colleges since the 1990’s and has served to educate hundreds of doctors and other healthcare professionals allowing them to provide more effective nutritional protocols to scores of patients. This evidence-based approach now includes components of both functional and integrative medicine.

The instructors for this exceptional program are all recognized experts in their respective fields and each has many years of clinical experience which they bring to their presentations. This combination of experience increases the breadth and depth of the education and certainly the learning which the students in the program receive.

One new direction that the program takes is an emphasis on genetic research and testing. The research in this field allows the instructors to introduce recommendations based on sound scientific studies completed in recent years. A new course, Parenteral Nutrients and Natural Medicine has been added to the program. This session includes a hands-on laboratory segment wherein the students learn how to administer intramuscular and intravenous forms of nutrients and natural medicines.

The two-year program is divided into 24-14 hour classes that have been specifically sequenced for maximal learning. Students in the program learn how to find, read and understand published clinical research and they will prepare a paper suitable for publication. The required case histories and studies for this program can be used as a part of the diplomate examination. Pass first-time rate for the diplomate exam has exceeded 90% over the years.

The program has been structured in a way to best prepare the student for the various board exams. Test questions generated for the program are also sent to the various diplomate boards for their possible inclusion in the board exams.

Each topic is a ‘stand alone’ course that can be taken for recertification for those currently holding a diplomate. Courses given in conjunction with TCC’s Homecoming include the mandatory board hours requisite to TBCE CE requirements. Applications for license renewal credit exclusive of the TBCE requirements can be requested.

Specific information on the program including dates, times, and instructors can be found here.
