Meet the Chiropractors

IMG_1212A.jpg

Hello. My name is Dr. Jonathan Rhue if you haven't picked up on that yet from the website. I currently live in Boring with wife and son. I am a 2007 graduate of the University of Western States (UWS) located in Portland, Oregon. I am from Delaware (the state) and when you meet me then I will be the only person you ever meet from Delaware. After graduating from UWS, I moved back to Delaware for less than two years to be with my extended family before realizing how much my family and I missed living in Boring, Oregon. My wife is from Oregon so I am allowed to be here. I married into the state. So we moved back in summer of 2010 and after working a brief bit in Sandy, OR, I found my new chiropractic home in Boring as of September 2011. I absolutely love having my clinic in this community and getting to know the residents and being a part of their health and wellness team. In November 2012, I purchased Estacada Chiropractic Clinic and changed the name to Oregon Trail Chiropractic. In 2015, I purchased Sandy Chiropractic Clinic (SCC) from Dr. George Hyland and in 2016, I purchased Pioneer Chiropractic Clinic from Dr. Carl Swarts. After purchasing SCC in 2015, I relocated my Boring clinic to Sandy. In Summer 2016, I relocated the Sandy clinic to the old Bank of America location in the middle of downtown Sandy. Currently I am serving the two wonderful communities of Sandy and Estacada. Things I enjoy doing, hmmm: Shooting various firearms(can I say that nowadays?), riding motorcycles (as seen in my picture), watching football (if you want to know my NFL and college teams you have to make an appointment), kayaking, skiing, making people laugh and most especially, showing my son how many awesome activities Oregon has to offer. Well there is my brief Bio. Any more info, you will need to make an appointment. Please feel free to call me if you have any questions or you are wondering if chiropractic care will even help you. Just know that I am here for You! I look forward to getting to know you when the opportunity arises. God Bless and Godspeed.

I grew up in Georgia and I realized I wanted to become a chiropractor when I was 18 after skydiving with my dad and grandma. I had a rough landing and decided to be treated by a chiropractor. It really struck home that he was able to help with such a natural approach.

I completed my studies at the University of Western States and have joined the Oregon Trail Chiropractic family full-time and work at the Sandy location. Coming from a small town, finding a community like Sandy has been ideal where everyone has been so welcoming.

In addition to working at the clinic, I’ve been pursuing a diplomate in Functional Neurology to continue my education, so I can better serve my patients. This therapy involves working with patients and stimulating the nervous system to help repair functionality throughout the body. Younger patients, especially student athletes, can really benefit from this approach.

When I’m not working, I enjoy hiking and kayaking with my wife and two dogs.

Dr. Hyland earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University in 1969. After two years in the Marine Corps he returned to college to become a Chiropractor. He has been in the Sandy Town Square, since 1998. Doctor Hyland is involved in various community organizations, including a past member of the Sandy Area Chamber or Commerce Board of Directors and its various committees. Presently he is a Mount Hood Hospice board member. He and his wife (an Oregon Trail School teacher in Sandy) have raised their three children in Sandy.

Dr. Hyland uses the Thompson Technique, which utilizes a “drop table” for most adjustments. X-rays are not always required, but x-rays are available in cases of significant traumas, such as automobile accidents, or serious falls and injuries. Heat, ultrasound, and electric muscle stimulation are utilized when needed for healing in addition to the Chiropractic adjustments.

Outside interests include traveling to the Southwest (Arizona in particular where two of his children reside), camping, gardening and visiting the local coffee shops!

Our chiropractors serve Estacada, Sandy and the surrounding communities in Clackamas County, Oregon.

They use chiropractic care to improve the health and wellness in all areas of patient's lives, whether they are having problems with back pain or neck pain, or just want to start feeling better when they wake up in the morning.  They take a "whole person" approach in chiropractic care, which means looking for the underlying causes of disease, discomfort, and pain, as opposed to just treating the symptoms. Many seemingly unrelated symptoms often arise from imbalances in the spinal column, and they will be able to determine the root of the pain and create a personalized chiropractic and wellness plan to suit each patient's individual needs. Under the supervision and care of our caring and skilled chiropractor, patients report higher functioning in all areas of their lives.

If you have any questions about our chiropractors, or would like to learn more about chiropractic care at Oregon Trail Chiropractic, LLC, please call us at (503) 630-4037 or (503) 668-5822 today!
