Massage Therapy in Scottsdale Complements Chiropractic Care

massage-at-secrestfamilychiropractic.jpgAt Secrest Family Chiropractic, PC Dr. Daniel Secrest, DC provides massage therapy to complement chiropractic care to relieve pain, restore mobility, and improve wellness care to help the patients optimize their health. By using a total body approach to healing and preventing pain, Dr. Secrest offers patients in Scottsdale, Mesa, Tempe and surrounding areas comprehensive treatment plans targeting root causes of pain and healthy living. Instead of medicating pain, Dr. Secrest works to heal the source of pain to increase flexibility, functionality and overall well-being.

The Scottsdale chiropractic center provides massage therapy in addition to chiropractic adjustments, corrective exercises, gentle treatments, and physiotherapy techniques to help patients heal and find pain relief. Dr. Secrest treats patients using massage therapy for pain management and healing. In addition to treating back pain, he treats auto accident injuries, work injuries, chronic pain, migraines, and headaches.

As a family chiropractor, Dr. Secrest uses focused techniques to ease pre and post natal discomfort. His goal is to achieve the wellness goals of all of his patients, whether it is to relieve pain, prepare for childbirth or recover from an injury.

Massage Therapy: A Helpful Healing and
Relaxation Technique

Dr. Secrest uses massage therapy to target particular parts of the body, using different techniques for certain effects.  A massage is a hands-on manipulation of the soft-tissues of the body and is used to treat injuries, relieve stress, and restore relaxation and wellness.

Although there are many different types of massage available, four types are most commonly used:  Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, and Chair massage. At the beginning stage of treatment when the goal is to eliminate pain, our Scottsdale chiropractor may prescribe a deep tissue massage along with chiropractic adjustments in order to help repair muscle damage that is caused by whiplash or a strain in the back or neck.

In the next phase of treatment, a sports massage is helpful in restoring the normal activity of the body, healing injuries, and increasing functionality.  At the final and ongoing phase of a chiropractic treatment plan, a Swedish massage is beneficial to relax and rejuvenate patients. Additionally, a chair massage is administered with the patient seated in a chair and can be useful at any point in the treatment process.

Patients in Scottsdale, Mesa, Tempe, Paradise Valley, Fountain Hills, Chandler, and Phoenix, AZ who are interested in wellness plans including the benefits of massage therapy can contact the office to schedule an appointment. Dr. Secrest will determine in his initial evaluation which level and style of therapy is best according to the patient’s individual needs.
