PAIN SCIATICA

Pain Sciatica is defined as symptoms of nerve pain, such as feelings of tingling, numbness, or weakness. It’s a type of pain that affects the sciatic nerve, which is actually the largest nerve in our bodies. This nerve starts in our lower backs and reaches all the way down the back of each leg. Sciatica on it’s own is not a medical illness, but instead a symptom of a medical condition or illness.

PAIN SCIATICA SYMPTOMS

The best way to recognize if you are experiencing pain sciatica, would be if you are experiencing symptoms such as:

– Pain in your lower back, rear, hip, or leg

– Burning or tingling feelings down your leg

– Weakness or numbness

– Difficulty moving your leg or foot

– Shooting pain when standing up

– Loss of bladder control

If you ARE experiencing symptoms such as the ones listed above, you may be wondering what caused them. It’s helpful to know that the hips and lower back are often the most suspicious body parts. Patients of sciatica often have their symptoms from a cause of irritation or inflammation (swelling) of the sciatic nerve. This effect can be caused from tumors, narrowing of the spine, touching bones, muscle, injury, and other causes.

Ultimately, the only true way to know if you have pain sciatica is to get a diagnosis with a physical exam. Pain sciatica can effect you in large ways – such as causing harsh, crippling pains, or simply causing occasional, small pains. Yet, it does have the potential to get worse, so seeking medical help when you are experiencing some of these symptoms is our suggestion. The Chiropractic Doctors would love to hear your story.
