SHOULDER RELIEF

It is no surprise that our shoulders play large roles in our daily tasks and functions. The well-being of our shoulders are not only critical because of their amount of usage, but also because the shoulder joint is the most complicated of our bodies. With that said, we’ve put together a list of a couple exercises that can be done at home to relieve shoulder pain. Give them a try!

SHOULDER RELIEF

The Shoulder Squeeze – Start by placing your hands behind your back while interlacing your fingers. Lower your hands down, squeezing your shoulder blades together. Do this for 5-10 seconds, and then relax. Try doing this move 5-7 times throughout your day. This will improve your posture, decrease inflammation, and hopefully relieve your pain.

Neck Stretch – Begin by sitting up straight, slowly lowering your chin down to your chest (you should feel the stretching in the back of your neck). Begin to move your head to the left or right to stretch each shoulder, doing this for 1 minute with 3-5 reps per day. Make sure to take deep breathes while doing this one to relax.

While these are helpful exercises that will relieve pain, it is still best to see a doctor if you are still in pain after several days of home remedies (such as ice, elevation, rest, or massage).
