To our valued Back to Roots Family:
In challenging times such as these, we would like to inform you of our efforts to keep the community safe and well. Your health is and always will be our #1 priority.
Our daily operating procedures are to follow cold and flu season protocols all year, every year, since our opening in 2009 which are as follows:
- As always, we sanitize our tables after each patient
- Sanitize frequently touched objects, such as tablets, door handles, armchairs, coat racks, etc.
- Our entire team washes and sanitizes hands with soap and hot water regularly. As always, Dr. Faria washes her hands prior and after each patient contact.
- Screen patients for flu like symptoms at the beginning of each treatment
- Diffuse Thieves oil in all of our rooms and the hall
- Professional Deep cleaning and disinfecting of the entire practice routinely.
- Staff members stay home with paid sick days, to rest and recover, as you should if you are unwell.
With the advent of Coronavirus, we are adding the following precautions to maintain a clean environment for healing:
- Please wash hands prior to touching the tea station if you hadn’t been doing so previously
- Additional wipes are available for the sign in tablet for you to use prior to using
- Surgical masks are available should you have a cough of any kind upon arrival
You will be asked to postpone your adjustment in any of the following cases:
- You have been coughing, sneezing, have a fever, or have flu-like symptoms
- You have recently traveled to a foreign country
- You have recently traveled outside of New Hampshire
- You have been recently been hospitalized
With that said, Chiropractic Care has been shown in several studies to improve immune function. Chiropractic helps improve the body’s ability to increase function as well as decrease stress. Our patients are some of the healthiest in this community due to their commitment to Chiropractic Care.
To stay healthy and prevent viruses, remember to:
- Wash your hands with soap and hot water
- Get regular chiropractic adjustments
- Drink lots of water
- Get plenty of sleep
- Avoid touching your face, especially eyes & nose
- Cover your cough into your elbow
- Eat a balanced diet full of antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables
- Build your body’s stores of Vitamins C, D, and Zinc to fend off infection
- Continue supplementation and healthy habits.
We are committed to the well-being of our patients. We believe the health of our community begins with healthy individuals. We will continue to take necessary precautions, and follow the local, national, and CDC safety guidelines. We also encourage our wellness family to maintain proactivity and to take positive action towards maintaining their health.
If you have any further questions, please contact us at 603-948-2121.
Sincerely,
Dr. Faria and the entire Back to Roots Team

Presents
“The Differences Between Male and Female Skeletons.”
Thursday
October 12, 2017
6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Hosted by
Back to Roots Chiropractic & Nutrition
Berwick, Maine, author and biological anthropologist Dr. Michael F. Gibbons will be the featured speaker in Back to Roots Chiropractic & Nutrition’s Books & Bones Author Series, scheduled for 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 12 at Back to Roots Chiropractic & Nutrition, 169 Rochester Hill Road, Suite A in Rochester, New Hampshire. Refreshments will be served, and the public is invited and urged to attend. Dr. Gibbons, a retired academic and Navy veteran who lives in Berwick, Maine, with his artist wife Joanne Fusegni-Gibbons, will speak on “The Differences Between Male and Female Skeletons.” A graduate of Yale University, Gibbons spent 40 years as a professor of biological anthropology and anatomy at many distinguished schools of higher learning including U.Mass/Boston, Wellesley College, the University of Alaska at Juneau, MIT, and Yale Medical School. The author grew up in Manchester, New Hampshire, and has traveled all over the world as a part of his professional work. Gibbons, who came to UMass/ Boston in 1972 after three years as a University Fellow at Yale, is an expert on the evolution of hominid speech. His research includes field work in Alaska, Australia, Africa, Tasmania, and the Virgin Islands. He is the author of a textbook—Homogenesis: Text, Workbook, Reader (Kendall/ Hunt, Dubuque, Iowa, 1992)—and numerous professional articles. During his tenure at UMass/Boson, Gibbons was given the Outstanding Achievement Award for Teaching by then-President William M. Bulger. Dr. Gibbons has been passionate about bones—and about their crucial importance to the field of forensic science—for many years. “The scientific analysis of skeletal artifacts can tell a great deal about the individual,” says Gibbons. “Characteristics such as age, sex, stature, ancestry, and general health can be ascertained with a great degree of accuracy.” For questions about Dr. Michael Gibbons’ October 12 appearance in the Books & Bones Author Series, e-mail Ross Alan Bachelder, the Back to Roots publicity consultant, at [email protected]. Announcing the Books & Bones Author Series
Back to Roots Chiropractic & Nutrition in Rochester to launch new Books & Bones Author Series.
Elkins, New Hampshire, author Sue Anne Bottomley will be the inaugural speaker in a newly established author series called Books & Bones, scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 15, at Back to Roots Chiropractic & Nutrition, 169 Rochester Hill Road, Suite A in Rochester. Refreshments will be served, and the public is invited and urged to attend. Dr. Nichia M. Faria, the Founder, President, and Clinical Director of Back to Roots Chiropractic & Nutrition, decided to establish the Books & Bones author series as a way to honor local and regional authors while encouraging literacy—and a lifelong appreciation for the magic of books — in every sector of the Greater Rochester community. “As long as I can remember, I’ve had a passion for books,” says Dr. Faria. “A three-part author series, open to the public and offered as a no-cost, ancillary service of Back to Roots, struck me as the best way I can help celebrate the work of this region’s many talented and dedicated authors.” Sue Anne Bottomley, a Concord native, graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1968 with a BA in Art and French, and is the author of two well-received books—Colorful Journey: An Artist’s Adventure Drawing Every Town in New Hampshire (2014), and Pep Talks for the Would-Be, Should-Be Artist (2016). Both books are illustrated with a rich array of the author’s own ink and watercolor sketches. Ms. Bottomley has drawn and sketched in France and studied printmaking at the Corcoran Museum School in Washington, DC, and is known for having invented and developed a relief printmaking technique called stenocut. Her prints can be found in private collections, in a number of banks and hotels in England and the United States, and on the walls of the National Institutes of Health and the Central Intelligence Agency. Her works have also been a part of two exhibits at US Embassies. To see more of Sue Anne Bottomley’s work as an artist, go to her monthly arts blog, www.colorfuljourney.us. The Fall, 2017 Books & Bones speaker will be Berwick, Maine, author Michael Gibbons. A graduate of Yale University, Gibbons spent 40 years as a professor of biological anthropology and anatomy at many distinguished schools of higher learning including U.Mass/Boston, Wellesley College, the University of Alaska at Juneau, MIT, and Yale Medical School. The author grew up in Manchester, New Hampshire, and has traveled all over the world as a part of his professional work and his years as a reconnaissance pilot. He’ll appear on Thursday, October 5 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, and will discuss the differences between human male and female skeletons. The Winter, 2018, speaker will be Dover, New Hampshire, artist, educator, musician, and author Monica Nagle, Ms. Nagle is the designer of the "Art of Living" Program, an award-winning, arts-centered prevention program that has helped many youth in New Hampshire to choose a drug-free life while giving back to their communities. A graduate of the Institute for Cooperative Community Development, Graduate School of Business at SNHU, she is the former Director of Arts and Humanities for the New Hampshire YMCA, and was chosen to participate in the NH Charitable Foundation's "It Takes A Community" Project, sponsored by the Ford Foundation. Nagle’s appearance at Books & Bones is scheduled for Thursday, January 25, 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Back to Roots.
