Digital Range of Motion & Surface Electromyography

sEMG, or surface electromyography, measures your muscle tension. It does this by detecting the amount of electrical activity given off when your muscles contract.

This is important because your muscles associated with the spine have a tendency to tense up after an injury to brace against the pain, and prevent further injury. What this does is allows us to see what is going on with your spinal column, quantify it, and track progress.

It is non-invasive, and does not cause any pain or irritation. All it does is make contact with your skin and detect muscle electrical activity. This means it is safe for infants, children, pregnant women, and seniors.

Digital range of motion, or ROM, is an accurate way to detect if there is a loss of range of motion in your spinal column. This is another tool to accurately quantify what is going with your spine, and track progress.

Equipment used in the office is manufactured by MyoVision, and is even featured in the American Medical Association’s “The Practical Guide to Range of Motion Assessment”. It is safe, reliable, and helps to establish the most effective treatment plan to help you get better!
