Our chiropractor uses non-surgical spinal decompression therapy to remove excess pressure from the spinal column and to allow the body to heal naturally. Spinal stenosis is a condition commonly seen with back and neck pain. Spinal stenosis causes the pathways of the spine to shrink, and pressure starts to mount. This in turn causes the vertebrae in the back and neck to compress discs. This can be reversed with a non-surgical spinal decompression procedure. Decompression uses gentle stretching to pull the pressure off the spinal column and allow the discs to return to their proper state.
Non-surgical spinal decompression is not painful, and patients normally feel nothing uncomfortable during the procedure. A low pressure will be applied via a specialized decompression table which is adjusted to the ideal angle for each individual patient. Results from non-surgical decompression are quite good, often even better than those that can be achieved surgically. Spinal decompression does not require any long recovery periods, and patients can return to their regular activities soon after a treatment in most cases.
