There is a big debate out there, on whether or not brown rice is actually better for you than white rice. We learn more and more to stay away from foods like white sugars, white flours, etc, and that these foods are bleached, and stripped of nutrients, and the same goes for white rice! But is brown rice actually better?
Below is a link to an article that talks about the subject in more depth. But be aware, that some restaurants add things to white rice to make it "brown", so don't just jump at that choice without asking some questions. My advise, if you are going to eat rice, eat rice that is a mixture of brown and wild rice, so that as many of the nutrients are still in tact as possible. Also, go for rice that need to be cooked the traditional way, not microwavable rice or easy-heat options that can sacrifice nutrient value for convenience.
Above all, everything in moderation, and if you are going to eat rice, a small portion will go a long way. Make sure you are mixing in lots of veggies and lean meats, or try adding some coconut milk, pinapple and curry spices!
