As a child, I remember watching my mother struggle with migraines and trigeminal neuralgia. When she felt good, she was full of energy. When she was having a flare, I could see the pain all over her face. We moved to a small town in northern Maine and she began treatment with a local chiropractor. The results were amazing. I studied cell and molecular biology at the University of Maine, then was off to Palmer College of Chiropractic where I graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2002.
My own health crisis is what convinced me to study Functional Medicine. I enrolled in the Kalish Institute for Functional Medicine and learned
everything I could about the body's stress response system - the autonomic nervous system, stress hormones, and inflammatory response. I have used these principles in my own life and in the lives of my patients. I am always astounded by the body's ability to heal when properly supported.
Continuing my studies, I recently became a Certified Impairment Rater for the AMA Guides.
I am mom to 3 amazing kids, 1 loyal cattle dog, and 2 cats. I love to run in the woods, read (WW II fiction/non-fiction are my favorite), listen
podcasts, and ride horses as often as I can.
