Intersegmental traction tables operate by having dual rollers beneath the surface which slowly and gently move up and down your spine. The rollers gently stretch and strengthen spinal muscles and ligaments while reestablishing proper spinal motion. Motion is critical in keeping spinal discs healthy and hydrated, since discs have a poor blood supply, they get their nutrients from the circulation of fluids surrounding spinal joints. Areas of the spine that feel tight and locked up have a decrease in circulation to the discs which over time causes disc thinning and degeneration.
Intersegmental traction tables are very relaxing and comfortable. Oftentimes patients fall asleep while lying on these tables.
