The role of oxidative stress in menopause

Estrogen has been shown to play a physiologic role in the cardiovascular system by protecting against heart disease. This is facilitated via its atheroprotective effect on plaque stabilization and collateral vessel formation. This hormone also has favorable effects on insulin, glucose, and lipoprotein levels in the serum. However, because the antioxidant effect of estrogen is lost once women reach menopause, the incidence of atherosclerosis (plaque build up in artery wall) increases. This is due to a variety of factors, one of which is a higher level of oxidized LDL in the blood. Furthermore, the marked reduction of estrogen during menopause increases free fatty acid levels. This makes postmenopausal women more susceptible to the metabolic syndrome and insulin resistance, both of which are implicated as risk factors for cardiovascular disease.

Some of the newest findings about the Nrf1 and Nrf2 are ground breaking for not only menopause but for many other oxidative stress related health conditions. In combination with both of these- taken once daily, you can start to see you amazing results. Here's a break down of what each one does:

PROTANDIM NRF2:
• Reduce oxidative stress*
• Combat the effects of aging caused by oxidative stress*
• Activate Nrf2 protein to turn on natural antioxidant production*
• Repair and rejuvenate damaged cells*

• Protect cells from free radical damage*

PROTANDIM NRF1:
• Increase cellular energy (ATP)*
• Improve performance through energy production*
• Enhance cellular health—cells function at their peak performance*
• Improve sleep quality and promotes cellular repair*
• Boost mitochondria production and their ability to

network*
