What is a K-Laser Therapy in Omaha?

Approved by the FDA in 2005 for use on humans and animals, K-Laser therapy utilizes near-infrared and red wavelengths of light to stimulate your body's ability to heal naturally while facilitating regeneration of soft tissues. K-Laser technology not only increases circulation in and around injured tissues but also creates an environment conducive to decreasing swelling, inflammation, pain and stiffness. Compared to low level lasers that only produce .3 or .4 watts of power, K-Lasers offer up to 25 watts of therapeutic laser energy capable pf penetrating deeply into chronically inflamed tissues.

How Does K-Laser Therapy Work?

K-Lasers enhance microcirculation to promote the flow of oxygenated red blood cells to damaged soft tissues and joint ligaments. In addition, laser energy stimulates hemoglobin molecules to release oxygen at treatment sites while activating enzymes in cellular mitochondria. Since damaged tissue cells effortlessly accept laser photons, these cells receive the majority of K-Laser's red and infrared light emissions, further expediting pain reduction and healing.

What Conditions Can K-Laser Therapy Treat?

In addition to treating most sports-related, musculoskeletal injuries, K-Laser is highly effective to reduce the pain of:

  • Chronic tension headaches and migraines

  • TMJ pain

  • Disc degeneration

  • Bursitis

  • Sciatica

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Arthritis

  • Plantar fasciitis

  • Iliotibial band syndrome

  • Post-knee replacement surgery

  • Trigeminal neuralgia

  • Fibromyalgia

  • Diabetic neuropathy

Chiropractors often use K-Laser therapy in conjunction with other treatments such as physical therapy, soft tissue mobilization, chiropractic massage and electrotherapy. These healing modalities work well to complement the effectiveness of K-Laser therapy.

Are There Any Side Effects of K-Laser Therapy?

K-Laser is a safe, painless treatment method for reducing pain and healing damaged soft tissues without using surgery or prescription medications. K-Laser patients have described treatment as having a slight, warming effect on targeted areas that feels relaxing and provides an immediate easing of pain and inflammation. K-Laser does not cause any side effects and treatment can be repeated as often as needed. In addition, K-Laser therapy is safe to use over broken skin, metal implants and on acute injuries.
