Dr. O’Brien grew up in Tamworth, Australia where his family-owned and operated a sheep ranch. He spent many hours of his youth on horseback, from sunup to sundown, shepherding the flock in the Australian outback. This was not to be his life long career as he told his mother, at the age of 8, that he wanted to be a doctor.
