Your First Appointment at Campion Chiropractic For Chronic Pain: What To Expect

Your First Appointment at Campion Chiropractic For Chronic Pain: What To Expect

Chronic pain can have a serious effect on your quality of life. When you are in pain, even the simplest daily activity can be difficult. If you suffer from chronic pain and want to avoid taking addictive pain medications, you should schedule an appointment with Campion Chiropractic. Before arriving for your first visit, you should know what to expect.

Medical History

The first thing that our chiropractor will do is assess your medical history. Dr. Nathan Sehorn will need to know about any conditions you are aware of that may be contributing to your chronic pain. Our chiropractor will also need to know about any medications you are currently taking.

Discuss Your Injury

Dr. Sehorn will need to know if you sustained an injury that may be contributing to your chronic pain. We will need to know what happened and your current pain level. Our chiropractic team will also need to know what activities and movements make your pain worse.

Physical Exam

Dr. Sehorn will perform a physical examination of your musculoskeletal system to determine what is causing your pain. We will also test your strength and your range of motion. He will gently move the affected areas of your body to determine what movements are causing you the most pain.

When our chiropractor has an idea of what is causing your pain and what makes it worse, they will discuss short-term and long-term goals with you. This will give you an idea of how long it will be before you are able to live a pain-free life.

Your First Adjustment

On the day of your first visit, Dr. Sehorn will go over your exam findings and review your x-rays or other radiologic imaging prior to starting your treatment plan.  Once you have a complete understanding of your condition, you may get your first chiropractic adjustment.  This should lead to some pain relief and an improved range of motion. Over time, the pain will diminish before disappearing entirely, greatly improving your quality of life.
