Like so many chiropractic patients, I sought care for something that was interfering with my life. When I was a teenager I started to struggle with headaches. I’d wake up in the morning sometimes and be unable to go to school. Some days they would knock me out by the end of the day, keeping me from doing normal teenager activities. My parents were chiropractic patients, so they took me to their chiropractor to get help. I started to get adjustments on a regular basis, and I saw a big improvement in my headaches.
I came from a family of dentists, doctors and nurses and was exposed to health care a lot growing up. I started college in the nursing program but discovered that it didn’t give me an opportunity to investigate a patient’s problems, then decide on and implement the best course of action. Chiropractic was a way for me to help people with a conservative approach that honors the body’s natural ability to heal and function on its own.
Obtaining an Education in Natural Health
Dr. Jaffe graduated from Valparaiso University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. He then continued his education at National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL, earning a second Bachelor of Science degree and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. ”To see firsthand how much chiropractic can help people has been amazing. Offering Multiple Solutions for Healing
To give his patients the best possible solutions to improve their health, Dr. Jaffe has undertaken a range of postgraduate studies. He is a Fellow of the Acupuncture Society of America (FASA) and had the privilege of being taught by some of the world’s most respected teachers and clinicians. He studied over 200 hours with ASA and is certified in acupuncture by the state of North Carolina. Dr. Jaffe integrates needle-free acupuncture with nearly all his patients, finding it highly effective for all ages.
Dr. Jaffe also has postgraduate studies in Pre and Perinatal Care and is a Certified Webster Technique practitioner. This technique reduces interference in the nervous system by evaluating the pelvis and spine. It facilitates a better functioning environment for both mom and baby through pregnancy and delivery.
Furthermore, Dr. Jaffe has experience as an EMT and athletic trainer, and has been the team doctor for two minor league football teams in the SSFL.
Dr. Jaffe has been involved with several different chiropractic organizations over the years. His associations have allowed him to serve the chiropractic profession and to further his own development as a chiropractor:
- Current Senior Vice President of the North Carolina Chiropractic Association (NCCA), as well as other Executive Board positions previously, representing chiropractors across North Carolina
- Recipient of the 2014 NCCA Member of the Year award for service and leadership in the chiropractic profession in North Carolina
- Valparaiso University Presidents Circle Executive Committee member
- Legislative chair of the NCCA and serves on the NCAA/PAC board
- Member of American Chiropractic Association and Florida Chiropractic Association
- Published Case Studies in Association Journals
Staying Busy with Family
Dr. Jaffe and his wife have two young daughters, both of whom were born with the help of midwives and doulas. After catching his first daughter during her water birth, Dr. Jaffe adjusted her at five minutes old. His second daughter was adjusted when she was about 15 minutes old. Dr. Jaffe’s wife and daughters receive adjustments on a regular basis to maintain their health. Their family enjoys spending time outdoors, playing sports, reading, and traveling and are active in their church and community. Dr. Jaffe and his wife are supporters of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Charlotte.
