Symposium Recap 2019

The 20th Anniversary ACA Rehabilitation Symposium was held at the Wyndham Hotel in Orlando. This hallmark event offered a number of great opportunities for the record breaking number of attendees!

Dr. Tim Bertelsman of ChiroUp gave practical advice on orthopedic testing and diagnosing.

Drs. Jay Greenstein, Thomas Fowler, & Jeffrey Dickhut reviewed their unique experiences and opportunities that shaped their current practice models. Many insights to integrated care and booming practice strategies were discussed.

Our speaker challenge showcased four outstanding docs!

Dr. Rick Serola examined his unique understanding of pelvic and SI joint mechanics. From this, he showed how revolutionary a sacral approach to core mechanics can be!

Dr. Donald DeFabio gave an exceptional review of low back mechanics and how the rehab chiropractor is especially poised to offer the most contemporary care.

Dr Corey Campbell shed light on full body joint mechanics and how simple a complete diagnosis can be.

Dr. Brett Winchester (our speaker challenge winner!) gave an impassioned talk about upper extremity mechanics and the importance of scapular stabilization.

Following the speaker challenges, Bryce Turner conducted an engaging workshop which re-established neutral spine mechanics highlighting posture techniques to reimagine exercise design.

Dr. Jay Greenstein outlined some of the latest research and how the success of the Clinical Compass is shaping the landscape of chiropractic practices.

Ron Hruska, explored the PRI approach to chiropractic alignment of the spine using advanced postures (and balloons!) to engage the audience with breathing techniques.

Saturday night offered the council's first ever group event where a large group of docs visited the USTA national campus. Following an immersive tour, lead by a former Life University student, we shared an exquisite dining experience with a program information led by Ed Ryan.

The symposium wouldn't be complete without recognizing the efforts of those who, through selfless dedication, raise the bar on chiropractic rehabilitation. Please join us in recognizing:

Dr. Robert Benningfield - Rehab Chiropractor of the Year
Cindy Petruska - President's Award
Brittany Weinsoff (UBSC) - Student Poster Contest Winner

Thank you for all your hard work and efforts!

Not only were the speakers great, but the weekend was filled with social and networking opportunities for all. New innovations were explored by some of our newer sponsors, students continued to impress at the poster presentations and friends, old and new, got reacquainted enjoying the Disney atmosphere. The symposium was a huge success in no small part by our membership of world-class rehab professionals. We're excited and looking to surpass expectations at next year’s 21st annual symposium March 13-15th in Phoenix AZ!

See you there!
