Manuscript Preparation & Submission guidelines

Manuscripts for JNARS should neither be previously published nor under review by another journal. Currently, the journal considers all level of articles for publication and may include: essays, case report/series, reviews, RCT, etc. There is no word count limitations or restrictions. Submitted papers needs to be rehabilitation focused. At the present time, all types of rehabilitation are being considered.

Manuscript Preparation

Below is a recommended outline with which to arrange your manuscript. For case reports, additionally consider and review the following 2006 article by Green & Johnson [here].

General Format

Authors are required to submit their documents in Microsoft Word or RTF file format.
Text should be single-spaced; 12-point font; 1-inch margins
Figures and tables are to be placed appropriately within the text
References should be consecutively numbered based on order of appearance in text and, where available, URLs are provided. See below for format.

Design Layout

Opening

Title – should be enticing and a fair representation of the author’s subject
Author List and Affiliations – List the full name of each author as you’d like it to appear in the finished work. Post-nominal letters may include those from academic degrees, honorary degrees, and board certifications. Training certificates will not be considered appropriate.
Abstract – Recommend a summary of less than 300 words of the article’s key points, results, and conclusions. It should review 1) Background 2) Methods 3) Results and 4) Conclusions. Avoid declarative statements which must be supported with additional evidence.
Keywords – JNARS accepts one and two-word keywords. Provide up to eight keywords which would be appropriate for search fields related to the topic and within the subject discipline.

Essential Content

Introduction – Broadly review the context of the study defining the purpose of the work and proposed significance. Introduce conflicting hypotheses if necessary. Highlight the aim of the study and main conclusions.
Materials & Methods – Enough details are required to allow replication. Established protocols need only be cited where new approaches should be thoroughly detailed. Include product names and identifying information.
Results – Provide review of the findings, necessary interpretation, and conclusions.
Discussion – Authors should examine results and offer discussion based on broad context of available literature. Offer direction to future studies.
Conclusion – May be added to highlight the implications of findings from the discussion section.

Ending

Limitations – Acknowledged limitations manuscript type or to elements within are necessary to review.
Conflicts of Interest – Authors must declare if any personal interest or circumstance which may inappropriately influence the perception of the studies findings.
Acknowledgements – Disclose any and all funding, outside partnerships, or manuscript influence.
References - Should be consecutively numbered based on order of appearance in text and, where available, URLs are provided

Editorial Procedures and Revision

All the articles, reviews and communications published in JNARS are screened by the editor to ensure relevant and appropriate papers are considered for review. JNARS uses blinded critical review by at least two field experts to peer-review appropriate submissions. Feedback from reviewers is vetted by the editor who will either accept or reject the manuscript based on indicated revisions. The authors will have fifteen (15) days to offer necessary revisions and support in response to reviewer comments. Upon acceptance, the manuscript will be scheduled for the next available publication.
