Q&A

WHAT IS SPINAL DECOMPRESSION THERAPY?

Spinal decompression is an FDA approved therapy, that is non-surgical and has a very high success rate for treating disc herniations, degenerative discs and pinching of the nerves. Low back and neck pain are also treated with spinal decompression. Spinal decompression uses a computerized traction that is targeted. It gently stretches the spinal column, taking away pressure from the discs, spinal joints and soft tissue structures. This allows the body’s healing process to naturally take place. Spinal decompression therapy also helps to increase blood flow and nutrient exchange within the injured discs and muscles.

HOW LONG DOES EACH TREATMENT LAST?

Spinal decompression treatments usually last 10-15 minutes and patients usually feel pain relief with only 8-10 treatments. During spinal decompression treatments, there are several waves of stretching and relaxing which helps with the healing process of the discs and spine. Most patients state that they feel a mild stretch over their lower back, cervical spine or hip region as well as a feeling of relaxation. In fact, it is not uncommon for patients who have arrived in severe pain to fall asleep during their treatment session!

IS SPINAL DECOMPRESSION THERAPY SAFE?

VERY! Safety and comfort are our main priorities during your spinal decompression treatments. Unlike other spinal decompression tables, our decompression table allows for a wide array of positioning options, which enables patients to be 100% comfortable during their therapy. The correct positioning is of utmost importance to achieve the objective of completely rehabilitating the damaged discs and spine. It is important to realize that the rapid reduction of pain during the first few sessions of decompression treatments doesn’t mean that the discs and spine have completely healed. It is important to finish the treatment plan that was initially prescribed by the physician.
