How do you have an attitude of gratitude? Is it more than being thankful? What is true contentment? Are you content with your health?
To attempt to demonstrate an "attitude of gratitude" I will try to relate one of my life experiences to you. While on a missions trip many years ago we visited some people who lived in the mountains away from any large cities. We stayed the night at the house of Tito and Rosa. He was a carpenter and she worked in the fields farming. She also made the tortillas for the kids at school. I remember seeing the children running around playing and laughing along with the chickens roaming. They had dirt floors, not marble and the kids were not playing video games. There was real joy in their laughter. They had an attitude of gratitude. They were content with what they had. Paul wrote in his letters in the Bible about being content as well.
Mental health is important. These days, there is much talk about it in the media. My hope is that it isn't all to steer people to dangerous pharmaceutical drugs to get hooked on. It may be cliche, but so many people chase wealth and power and control only to find that they can not take it with them. A spirit of gratitude goes a long way toward eternity. Give thanks.
