Chiropractic Care

Your spinal cord transmits signals from the brain to the muscles, nerves, and organs both voluntarily and involuntarily. Given the fact that the spine is such a finely tuned structure, if it becomes misaligned, pain, discomfort, and a loss of range of motion can occur. At Quinn Chiropractic Center in Arroyo Grande, we provide chiropractic care and treatment for our patients who suffer from neck and back injuries.

Chiropractic Care for Subluxations

When our chiropractor informs a patient about a spinal subluxation, we are talking about an unnaturally positioned vertebra that doesn't function well with another vertebra. Joint dysfunction in the neck can cause headaches and affect a person across the shoulders, down an arm, and into the hand. Similarly, joint dysfunction in the lower spine can affect somebody across the lower back, into the buttocks, down a leg, and into a foot.

Chiropractic Care for Subluxations

When a spinal subluxation occurs, compression of the spinal nerve root and inflammation is almost always a symptom. The primary treatment that our chiropractor in Arroyo Grande uses to treat subluxations is a chiropractic adjustment, otherwise known as chiropractic manipulation. With the use of his hands over a series of sessions, our chiropractor slowly and gently returns a vertebra to its intended natural position.

With the realignment of the spine, the pain is reduced and your range of motion is restored, as are functionality and overall wellness. All of this is done without the uncertainty and pain of surgery or the dangers of prescription or over-the-counter medications. Massage therapy may also be recommended before any chiropractic adjustments for purposes of relaxing the muscles to help move a vertebra into a proper position.

Spinal Decompression

For particularly difficult subluxations, spinal decompression might be recommended. This involves a special chiropractic table that the patient lays upon. Spinal decompression sessions are painless and last 15 to 30 minutes. Our chiropractor controls the table movement via computer. Chiropractic spinal decompression is very effective and has been cleared by the United States Food and Drug Administration.

Testimonial

  • "Dr. Quinn is knowledgeable, highly skilled, personable chiropractor. His treatments surpass those of other chiropractors I have seen over my lifetime. Currently, I am receiving treatment due to whiplash that occurred when my car was rear-ended at a red light.

My treatment includes weekly re-evaluation, chiropractic manipulation, therapeutic massage, and intersegmental traction. Dr Quinn also recommended my need for a podiatrist. The podiatrist found several treatable problems. Now my health keeps improving, but without his informed doctor's wisdom I would not have known the extent of help available to me. I am most grateful for Dr. John Quinn's excellent care and highly recommend him and his staff."
