Favorite Food for Good Gut Bacteria

New research from Melbourne and the UK has shed new light on ...

"The Favorite Food for Your Beneficial Gut Bacteria"

As more and more research is done on the "Microbiome Project" studying our gut flora and what it does for us to keep us healthy, they have found what is the favorite food for most of your gut bacteria. It's a compound called "sulfoquinovose" or SQ for short.

Your bacteria need food to grow and proliferate and get energy to keep you healthy and also crowd out the bad bacteria. SQ is their favorite energy source. So where do I get SQ you ask? Well it's not some fancy probiotic or prebiotic you can buy at your local health food store. The best source of SQ is green leafy vegetables!

Take note that it's the leaves and not green beans etc. Some of the best ones are from what's called the "goosfoot" family which is beet greens, chard, and spinach. Other leafy greens are very good too. The darker the green the better! And be careful to not overcook leafy greens which destroys all their nutrients. Raw or very lightly steamed is best.

So go feed your good bacteria!
