Beef Chili |

The next time you are craving a nice warm bowl of chili, give this one a try.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 3 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, peeled and mashed
- 4 cups tomatoes, diced
- 2 cups cooked kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- Sea salt and pepper
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add beef, 1 teaspoon of the chili powder, and cumin, saute until browned, about 5 minutes. Using a slotted spoon transfer the beef to a plate.
- Add onion, garlic, and remaining chili powder to the same pan, cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 3 minutes. Add tomatoes with juice and beans, cover and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Uncover and add cooked beef, and cook and additional 5 minutes, until the liquid thickens a little. Season to taste and serve ho
