Gait Analysis

As we all know the body is connected and your feet are a very important part of that. The way that you stand, walk, and exercise impacts the rest of your body. The force, speed, and positioning of your feet have a ripple effect on the rest of your joints and muscles. If you are stepping down too hard, rolling your feet, or placing your feet at an improper position it can transfer pressure to your ankles, knees, and hips as well as affect your posture. Over time this movement can lead to discomfort and injury.

Gait Analysis measures many different aspects of your stride such as length, foot pronation, the width of your stance, positioning of your body, and speed at which you normally walk. Using Gait Analysis Dr. Karl is able to pinpoint any problems with your walk and can even make custom foot orthotics to help correct your walking and help posture. If you have discomfort while walking or running Gait Analysis can help to improve your running technique and effectiveness.
