Here are some key principles about Precision Neuromuscular Therapy and how it's different that other massage modalities. PNMT revolves around:

Skilled assessment - figuring out the source of the pain.

Precise Treatment - designing a session that is tailored exactly to your particular needs.

Results - Using benchmarks and measurements, you should see progress in short order.

The goal of general massage is relaxation. The goal of PNMT is problem solving a particular muscular discomfort you are feeling.

General massage systematically addresses every body part equally. In PNMT, the whole session is organized around problem solving your particular discomfort. Precision Neuromuscular Therapists are more like soft-tissue detectives trying to uncover the reason for your pain.

Zoning Out vs. Tuning In - In massage, often the receiver is totally passive and can drift into "neverland" if desired. With PNMT, the therapist will need your input and feedback to discover where the restrictions are hiding.

Event vs. Process - Solving a problem that has been going on for several months does not happen in one session. With PNMT, plan on three to four sessions to see a real difference.
