Meet the Doctor

.Dr. Malek believes in a whole body, whole person approach to health that can be achieved by natural means through chiropractic and nutrition. She sees health as choices not chances.

Dr. Malek was born in Vienna, Austria and moved to California at the age of 4, where she grew up in Santa Barbara. She was always interested in biology and how things worked. She went on to attend UC at Santa Barbara taking pre-med courses and graduating with a degree in Cellular and Organismal Biology. After college Dr. Malek spent seven years working as a lab technician for a Leukemia Research Hospital in Vienna, Austria.

She became interested in chiropractic after her brother was injured in an auto accident and was returned to health by a chiropractor. She wondered why the medical world could not help her brother and chiropractic could. She embarked on research and discovered the whole body, get to the cause by natural means approach of chiropractic. This impressed her and she returned to California to attend Palmer Chiropractic College-West in Sunnyvale. She completed her 4 year studies in 3 and went on to associate with a chiropractor in Cupertino. In 1990 she established her own practice in her current location.

To be a healthy person Dr. Malek realized you must have balance in all aspects of your life which includes lifestyle and diet, strength and endurance, structural integrity and posture, stress management and maintenance of a stable emotional state. She then went back to school for 2 years to get a post graduate degree in Nutrition graduating in 2000.

When winter comes, you will find Dr. Malek snow skiing on the slopes of Lake Tahoe. Summer will find her swimming, cycling or hiking in the local mountains or the Sierras.
