My Newest Certification!

I recently got a new certification that I’m proud to have and to be able to use to help my patients and any resident of the local communities that I serve!

A couple weeks ago, I attended a seminar and part of the seminar was a 6-hour certification course on learning how to do kinesiology taping through Rocktape. Technically, I’m an FMT Level 1 Certified Practioner. I’m currently the only Chiropractor in all of the Eastern Suburbs of Allegheny County, including Monroeville and Penn Hills, to have this level of certification to expertly provide and apply kinesiology taping!

You can read more about Rocktape on their website here. You can specifically see that, in essence, when applied properly, Rocktape lifts the skin away from the muscle, which promotes blood flow. Faster blood flow means more oxygen and more lymph drainage, which helps remove Lactic Acid in inflammation. Here are 2 pictures, a general “no tape” picture here and an “after tape” picture here that helps to illustrate that.

It’s great for all levels of athletes at all ages. Rocktape provides greater support and faster healing both during and after athletic events. It can also be used generally to treat various everyday sprains and strains. Lastly, here’s a link to a lot of their research on how much improved athletic endeavors etc. are when using Rocktape.

So if you’re an athlete, no matter the skill level, no matter the sport, and no matter the age, please contact me directly if you have questions and to see if Rocktape would benefit you!

Reviews By Our Satisfied Patients

I have been coming to see Dr. Brent since October 2011, and just after a few adjustments he had me feeling better than ever. I was experiencing severe back pain mostly in my lower back and my hips also were giving me a lot of pain. I can now work every day and not experience the pain that I used to when I would bend over to grab something. Since I work as a CNA I am always moving around, I am glad now that I can do that without pain. When I started coming to see Dr. Brent he had told me that my

I have been experiencing pain in my legs, middle back and lower buttocks for about 2 years now. Having this pain interferes with me doing my everyday routines like walking and standing for long periods of time. I was referred to Dr. Brent by my niece, who has been seeing him for a couple of years. When I went for my first visit we talked about my past and he had told me that my pain was because my pelvis was out of place. He had recommended that I come in for adjustments a couple times a week.
