Your body goes through so many changes while pregnant. One of the most annoying and sometimes debilitating pain during pregnancy is sciatica. Most mama's struggle with sciatica during the last trimester but it can cause problems as early as week 10. As your body changes and adapts to your growing baby and uterus your center of gravity and biomechanics start to move forward. To make it so you don't fall over the back side of your body tightens. That is your calves (think leg cramps), hamstrings, glutes/piriformis (sciatica), and lower back (can also contribute to sciatica). As the weeks go by your body starts to spread preparing for childbirth. When this happens the muscles through out your pelvis get strained which leads to muscle instability and weakness. All of these changes leads to sciatica.

Finding a chiropractor certified in prenatal care can help! Dr. Jenny treats pregnant women using Webster Technique, Spinning Babies, and myofascial treatments. She works with all the muscles and joints surrounding the uterus to ensure balance and proper function.
