Leg cramps/spasms during pregnancy are the worst! I woke up in the middle of the night with leg cramps, more like spams with each of pregnancies. My second pregnancy my calf was so tight it took almost a week of massage and stretching to get it to relax. There are a few ways to avoid/reduce the chances of getting leg cramps/spams.
First, below are some exercises to help. Second, make sure you are getting magnesium in the diet. Bananas and spinach are great sources. Also, make sure you are staying hydrated as well as getting electrolytes daily. Lastly, movement is super important. Walking it a great way to keep your blood pumping through your legs. Sitting for long periods of time can lead to muscles getting tighter due to decreased blood flow.
