For mamas low back pain postpartum is very common. Initially it is due to the lack of muscle strength due to child birth and all the hormones and trauma. So starting with gentle breath related strength work is important. As you progress through your 4th trimester into the 4-9 month postpartum phase your hormones change. During this time you may notice hair loss, milk production may reduce, and your cycle may return. You might also notice you start to keep more stiff and sore. This occurs as your ligaments and muscles start to tighten up and your spinal curves change. (Mama's body is amazing and goes through so many changes both during pregnancy and postpartum) During this time strength work is still important but mobility work helps to reduce the stiffness. Below are a few of my favorites. As always reach out with any questions!
