Neck Pain

Neck pain ranges from mild discomfort to severe chronic pain that could be disabling. At IPM, we concentrate on treating the underlying cause of your neck pain. The issues in and around the neck can affect the nerves, ligaments and blood flow to the head and shoulder region. You'll find many of the neck issues we see and treat at IPM below.

We are very effective in identifying and treating neck pain through adjustments, physical therapy, acupuncture, massage and exercise.

Please don't hesitate to call and schedule an appointment at any of our four office locations. We can help get rid of that neck pain through the best combination of chiropractic care, physical therapy, therapeutic massage and acupuncture treatment options available.

Whiplash

Whiplash is a type of neck sprain that often results from a car accident. It is a hyperflexion/hyperextension injury commonly occurring when a motor vehicle is rear-ended. The neck and head are “whipped” suddenly and quickly forward (hyperflexion) and backward (hyperextension), which may lead to severe neck sprain and/or strain. Whiplash causes pain and stiffness in your neck. Pain may be worse when you try to turn your head. You may even feel dizzy or sick to your stomach. Chiropractic adjustment often helps. At IPM, we may have you do exercising and stretching at home, too, and show you how to use heat or ice to reduce muscle spasms and swelling.

Disc Pain

Discs act as shock absorbers of the spine and are made up of soft, fibrous tissue with a jelly-like center. Disc problems may vary from a mild bulge or tear of the disc, to a severe rupture and commonly affect the lower back. Often, pain occurs suddenly and may increase with prolonged sitting. We have extensive experience handling patients with disc problems through the use of physiotherapeutic modalities, exercise, and light spinal manipulation.

Herniated Discs

Herniated discs usually occur in the neck or low back. A herniated disc can cause pain when the outer ring (annulus) or interior matter (nucleus pulposus) presses on a nearby nerve root.

Degenerative Disc Disease

Degenerative disc disease (DDD) is usually associated with aging.  As you become older, your intervertebral discs— the pillow-like cushions between your vertebrae—can degenerate or break down due to years of strain, overuse, or misuse. The discs may lose flexibility, elasticity, and shock absorption. They also become thinner as they dehydrate.

Are these conditions covered by insurance?

In most cases yes and we make sure we verify your coverage with your insurance company before any treatment begins. That way, if it isn't 100%, we can let you know how much of your plan is covered right from the start.

We are in-network with most PPO/POS plans (BCBS, Aetna, United Healthcare, Cigna and more), as well as some HMO plans, and Medicare. We also accept worker’s compensation and personal injury cases. Individualized payment plans are available to those without insurance coverage. We offer flexible payment options and are transparent about all costs. Find out more.

360 Degree Approach

Our approach at IPM is unique. By identifying all aspects of an injury, we are able to cater a customized rehabilitation program that not only repairs the injured area, but makes the area stronger and more stable to be able to withstand future injuries. This is the definition of true preventative care!
