Kayla C.- My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 3 years. After a year of trying unsuccessfully on our own we consulted with my OB/GYN and she referred us to a fertility doctor. After doing the initial consultation and test, I was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ocarian Syndrome). The first route was to start IUI (Intrauterine insemination) after multiple prescriptions and hormone injections and 4 rounds of unsuccessful IUI they told us our next step was IVF ( Invetro fertilization). At first, I was all on board, ready to do anything and everything just to get a baby. But, after talking to my husband and further investigation we decided to hold off on it for a bit. I was getting my hair cut one day and my hair dresser referred me to Dr. Dawn Patrick. She said "just go in and talk to her, I know she has had success with people who are having issues getting pregnant". I was on board right away. After having my mom diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 2013, I started thinking about all the hormones I had put in my body and all the potential damage that could give me down the road. Here I am trying everything to have a baby and it's not going to do me any good is I'm not there for the child when they get older. So, in March of 2016, I started with Dr. Patrick. She has me on a strict supplement regimen and nutrition plan, telling me my body can heal itself. We just have to give it the nutrients it needs to start healing. So, after 14 months of the supplements and getting adjusted by Dr. Dreher, my husband and I found out we ARE EXPECTING!! TO say we are ecstatic is and understatement. I immediately called Dr. Patrick and told her the news and she just started crying. My only regret in all of this is that I didn't know about Dr. Patrick first! I know everything is in God's timing and is all a part of his plan, but I just can't help but feel I put my body through a lof of unnecessary stresses, going the hormone route first. Not only did she meet with me every month, she never hesitated to stop what she was doing to answer any question that I had. She always reminded me that this is "God's plan" and this is his time. And, sure enough, the timing was perfect! We found out Mother's Day weekend and were able to surprise my eager mother and Mother-in-law on Mother's Day that they were going to be Grandma's!!
I will never be able to express my gratitude and respect for Dr. Patrick. The amount of knowledge this woman has I didn't even know could exist in the human brain. She is wise beyond her years and on January 17th, I can't wait to introduce her to Amelia Rhett!!! Thank you Thank you Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything!!!!!
