Kitchener Chiropractor shares 13 Health Tips for 2013

13 Ways to Improve Your Health in 2013

1. Physical Exercise every day, preferably outdoors – Make your day more physical, period. It doesn’t have to happen in a gym. Do whatever you can, whenever you can. It all adds up!

2. Drink Water- Our massage therapists can tell immediately from manipulating fascia whether a client has been sufficiently hydrating. It makes that much difference! Drinking water after exercise or a massage is especially effective for eliminating toxins from the body.

3. Natural sunlight (vitamin D) Vitamin D is important for strong bones and may be linked to lowering the risk of some cancers, and helps your immune system.

4. Reduce chemicals in your world –Get back to basics. Use vinegar, water, baking soda, and lemon for cleaning in your home, or a true green product. Eat whole foods rather than packaged, processed foods.

5. Eliminate processed foods – Eat whole foods! Some people follow the 10 Rule. If an item lists more than 10 ingredients on the package, don’t buy it. Some say that if you can’t pronounce the ingredients, you shouldn’t be eating them.

6. Lemons! - They’re great to get your liver and gallbladder working optimally. Try to start your day with a glass of warm lemon water.

7. Garlic - It’s still one of the best antimicrobials in the world! It’s great for cardiovascular health and cholesterol levels.

8. Sleep – Get more! This is the time when organs repair themselves. Yes, while you sleep your organs are detoxing without any extra effort from you.

9. Reduce Stress - Cut the crap out of your life! There are often things you can eliminate to make time for relaxation, and that comes in many forms.

10. Increase oxygen Intake – Breathe deep bellybreaths at any opportunity – bodies don’t work without oxygen

11. Stimulate Your Brain – Do something you normally don’t do in order to exercise the other side of your brain. Socialize…it’s mentally stimulating.

12. Treat Yourself-It’s as simple as taking 30 min to read the paper or get a massage.

13. Do Something Nice for Someone Else -This is a win-win! You’ll feel better and so will the other person.
