Welcome to Back2Health! Thank you for trusting us with your care.
Arrival
Upon arrival our reception team will welcome you into the clinic and offer you an IPad to complete your new patient paperwork. This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your condition.
What will happen in my appointment?
Injury History
You’ll begin by discussing the reason for your appointment and how your symptoms developed. Dr Trevor will assess your concerns and goals inline with the treatment he provides and will only accept you as a patient if he is confident he can provide support and relief.
*If it is determined that B2H isn’t the best option for you, we will point you in the relevant direction and there is no charge involved. *
Physical examination
You will be taken through a series of movements and a sequence of physical tests that consider range of movement, flexibility or assessing the different muscles, ligaments and tendons.
Diagnosis
A thorough history, along with a physical examination, are usually enough for Dr Trevor to arrive at a diagnosis, without the need for additional scans or x-rays. Its important you feel heard and understand exactly what treatment you will be recovering so Dr Trevor will take the time to explain your diagnosis in detail.
*It’s your body and your treatment so please ask for as much clarity as you need to ensure you have confidence and understanding about your treatment! *
Treatment
Treatment is included in your initial appointment and will be tailored to your unique needs. Treatment will include a range of techniques dependent on your needs and goals including the below.
- Therapeutic exercises
- Manual hands-on therapy
- Soft tissue treatment
- Joint mobilisation/manipulation
- Dry Needling
- Taping or bracing
- Cold laser therapy
What will happen next?
If Dr Trevor determines further treatment is required, he advise what would be best for your condition and goals and we will offer you the opportunity to rebook.
*We encourage patients to book their appointments one at a time so that we can assess at each appointment what your needs will be as your condition evolves.*
If you’re not getting the desired outcome for your care, please let us know and Dr Trevor will adjust his treatments inline with your feedback or alternatively investigate other practitioners and/or treatment options outside of Back2Health that may be better suited to your needs.
Why do we do this and provide this detail?
Dr Trevor and his wife Shara started their clinic journey with one clear mission. To provide pain management and support to the Townsville community.
The clinic was established with the sole intention of putting our patient’s needs first and creating a clinic that truly embodies our mission statement of "Patient first Always".
Pain can be debilitating, and quality of life can be severely impacted. If you’re coming to us here at Back2Health, usually it means you have had an issue or a concern that has been bothering you for a while and taking that first step with a new clinic requires trust. You are investing both your time and your money into your care, and you are putting your health in our hands. That is a responsibility we do not take lightly, and we appreciate that we are able to provide that service.
