What makes chiropractic care an Essential Healthcare Service?

What makes chiropractic care an Essential Healthcare Service?

We continue to be open to serve our patients here at Anderson Chiropractic. As a Sacramento Chiropractor, and small business owner for over 20 years, I feel blessed to have something essential to offer the community during this
COVID -19 pandemic. We have been able to safely serve many people during this time. I know many of our friends and patients who own other types of small businesses are not as fortunate.

What makes chiropractic an Essential Healthcare Service?

The majority of ER and Urgent Care patients are experiencing musculoskeletal pain (MSK).  MSK's are the primary resaon people initially seek out chiropractic care. The US Department of Homeland Security also has deemed chiropractors to be essential service providers. The American Chiropractic Association recently published this press release recently about this topic: http://www.acatoday.org/News-Publications/Newsroom/News-Releases/Department-of-Homeland-Security-Identifies-Chiropractors-as-Essential-Service-Providers

During a Pandemic:

Hospitals may be overrun with infectious patients. Those who are infected need to be seen right away, so the MSK patients will be a lower priority, risk potential infection and will possibly be torn away.

The chiropractic adjustment is important, but,

It is not the only thing chiropractors do. Chiropractors are trained to diagnose and treat many conditions. When healthcare services are in short supply, they help bridges the gap in care that these patients would otherwise be facing.

Especially Now.

Chiropractors are an essential part of the healthcare system. They work with other healthcare professionals to make sure everyone gets the treatment they need, keeping the hospitals open for COVID-19 and other serious health conditions.

We continue to take extra precautions to ensure a safe and helpful visit in our office.

The CDC has also published some guidelines for venturing out into the community for the essential things in your life during this time. You can read them here:

It is my hope that we will soon be back to normal, or at least a reasonable new normal very soon. Stay safe!
