You would think that by May, "whiplash season" would be just about over!  It seems that typically, the wet, dark days on the roads in winter contribute significantly to the frequency and severity of auto accidents in our Sacramento area. This year, it's different for some reason. There was not too much wet of course during the winter or spring, but there seem to be more auto accidents happening than ever.

Just last Friday night, while hanging out at home, I heard a long screech of tires and then a boom!  I knew it had to be bad, so I ventured out to see if anyone needed help. Miraculously, the three young people were OK, but their car was upside down and had smashed into a car, a house and a tree! 

Unfortunately, many of my recent new patients have not been so fortunate. We have had more new patients who have been in car accidents than ever.  Several were ones you likely heard about on the news. Very tragic.

So, dear friends and readers, please be careful out there, and make sure you are not tempted to make cell phone calls, texts or get distracted. It just isn't worth it. 

Make sure you also have the proper insurance coverage, like med pay, under and uninsured motorist protection, and the rest.  Statistics, especially lately, are not encouraging. It seems everyone is involved with some kind of motor vehicle accident every 7 years!
