Massage Therapy

Swedish: Swedish Massage combines various techniques including gliding, kneading and cross fiber friction to ease tension and pain. Swedish massage reduces mental stress and anxiety, enhances circulation, increase range of motion and restores a positive emotional outlook. This type of modality is the most popular for promoting health maintenance.

Deep Tissue: Deep Tissue Massage is aimed at a deeper structure of the body. It uses many of the techniques as Swedish Massage, but the strokes are generally slower and preformed with more pressure. During this massage the therapist works to release chronic muscle tension and adhesions. Deep Tissue is more intense than swedish, but should not be painful. Please communicate if the pressure needs to be adjusted, especially in various areas of the body.

Sports Massage: Sports massage is a form of bodywork that caters to athletes and active individuals. It is geared to help in optimal performance, recovery after a big event or to help function well during training. It emphasizes injury prevention and healing of muscles and tendons. Sports massage can also be helpful for people with chronic pain or restricted range of motion. Pain can be reduced in specific areas or problems such as tender knee, pulled hamstring or frozen shoulder.
