Currently it is worrying times for us all. You may be feeling uncertain, fearful or anxious about being in lockdown? Your worries may be for yourself, family, friends or our nation as a whole. Either way it is normal and understandable to be feeling these emotions during this situation. No one has experienced this before, what we are going through will go down in history.
What can you do to help your mental health?
Follow this 1 simple step...
Start a gratitude journal.
This is easy to do and only takes a couple of minutes of your time each night before you go to bed. By bringing your attention to those things which are positive, it can help you clear your mind from negativity. Doing this activity before going to sleep has also been found to help you fall asleep quicker and improve your quality of sleep. It is important that you write this down on a piece of paper rather than on your phone or any other device. For added benefits, refer back to your gratitude journal at times of unease or first thing in the morning to help start your day with a smile.
It is sometimes quite easy to become wrapped up in the things which are not going right for us. Put this tip into action and you'll soon see how you are in control of your thoughts and your mind.
