Now that we finally have some sun, it's important to be sun smart. I saw this and wanted to share it.
5 S's of Sun Safety:
SLIP on a t-shirt Clothing acts as one of the best protective barriers. Keep
SLOP on SPF 30+ broad spectrum UVA sunscreen Apply a generous amount of cream, if you think it's enough, add a bit more!
SLAP on a hat The wider the brim the better, covering the ears.
SLIDE on a pair of sunglasses Look for the European CE mark which indicates a safe level of protection.
SHADE from the sun whenever possible. The shade can create a good barrier but never use it alone, combine with other measures. Always keep babies in the shade.
Other top tips:
- Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and keep cool.
- Refrain from being in the direct sunlight between 11am and 3pm. This is the hottest part of the day and the time you are most at risk.
