Ultrasound Therapy

Ultrasound therapy is a treatment method that uses ultrasound waves to promote healing. We offer ultrasound services to heal individuals from internal pain and soothe stressed nerves. Our chiropractor, Dr. Rod Merritt, uses therapeutic ultrasound in two different ways.

.

Deep heating: Ultrasound therapy can be used to increase blood circulation to damaged soft tissues. Deep heat also improves the flexibility of muscles to restore a full range of motion.

Cavitation: Our chiropractor uses ultrasound therapy to rapidly expand and contract bubbles around the injured area, promoting healing.

There are many benefits to ultrasound therapy, the most notable of which include the following.

Reduced Tenison

Musculoskeletal pain is one of the most common causes of tension and immobility. It is a pain that occurs when there is damage to your muscle tissue. The damage could be a result of fractures, dislocation, sprains, auto accidents, or falls. Repetitive movements and prolonged immobility can also lead to tension. Ultrasound therapy gives tissues the deep heat needed to relieve tension.

Increased Blood Flow

Increased blood flow prevents blood clots and swelling around an injured area. It also reduces chronic inflammation caused by health issues such as arthritis. If you have a fresh injury, our chiropractor will set the ultrasound to pulse. By increasing blood flow to the injured area of your body, our chiropractor can expedite your body’s natural healing process.

Pain Reduction

Ultrasound therapy can also relieve pain and reduce muscle spasms. Ultrasound waves help improve tissue circulation and extensibility, resulting in increased mobility and reduced pain. There are some instances where ultrasound therapy should not be used. Overactive cancer-affected areas, pain in body parts with metal implants, fractures, and open wounds should not be treated with ultrasound therapy. Our chiropractor will evaluate your condition to determine whether or not ultrasound therapy is right for you.
