A study presented at the November 2015 American College of Rheumatology Annual Meeting in San Francisco by a physical therapy group showed that the most effective treatment for knee osteoarthritis involved both exercise and manual therapy. They also found that spacing physical therapy visits [could also be chiropractic visits if exercise and manual medicine to the knee is included] out over the course of a year, with initially more frequent visits, provided longer term benefit to the patient.
In my practice I use exercises along with Active Release Technique® and mobilizations.
