    Jessica Seaton, D.C., D.A.B.C.O.

    Jessica Seaton, D.C., D.A.B.C.O., is a board certified Chiropractic Orthopedist and holds a certificate in Functional Medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine. She has been in private practice in West Los Angeles since 1987.

    A running injury first brought her to a chiropractic clinic, where she was treated successfully. Intrigued with chiropractic’s approach to healing by human touch, and without drugs and surgery, she pursued chiropractic education to enable others to improve their quality of life.

    Dr. Seaton graduated summa cum laude from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles with a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree. She continued her education at Los Angeles Chiropractic College (now Southern California University of Health Sciences) by completing the Chiropractic Orthopedics program and becoming board certified in 1989 (Diplomate of the American Board of Chiropractic Orthopedists). Dr. Seaton has taught undergraduate and post-graduate courses at Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles.

    She completed the Team Physician Course through the American College of Sports Medicine in 1993. She also has a certificate in Botanical Medicine from Western States Chiropractic College (1998). In 2008 Dr. Seaton completed an intensive course in alternative medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine (Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice). She completed the advanced coursework in Functional Medicine and received a certificate through the Institute for Functional Medicine (2013). Dr. Seaton is also certified in Active Release Technique ® (upper extremity and lower extremity in 2015, spine in 2016). 

    Dr. Seaton holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree, cum laude, from California State University Northridge (1979).

    As an athlete, Dr. Seaton is interested in sports medicine. She is a competitive swimmer and member of United States Masters Swimming (USMS). She served as committee chairwoman of the USMS Sports Medicine Committee (2001-2005). Many of her swimming related articles have appeared on the web (www.spmasterswim.org) and in the magazine for USMS, as well as local swimming newsletters.

    Dr. Seaton practices yoga, lifts weights, runs, bicycles,and hikes. In August 2007 she successfully hiked Mount Whitney (14,496 feet) in one day. She has completed three marathons, as well as three century bike rides (100 mile rides) , and several triathlons. She does both downhill and cross country skiing in the winter.
