A study was just published in February 2014 in the European Journal of Nutrition that found the eating more carrots may be associated with a decreased risk of prostate cancer. This kind of research, while interesting on one level, seems to me to be almost silly. People who are eating a lot of carrots are usually eating a lot of other healthy fruits and vegetables. So to just pull out carrots in the diet seems silly.
As a functional medicine doctor, I recommend that my patients each a colorful diet everyday. Try and eat every color of the rainbow everyday.
