Walnuts and Cognitive Decline

A review article in the February 2014 edition of the Journal of Nutrition looks at the data linking the consumption of walnuts with brain health. Walnuts are rich in phytochemicals that can reduce the inflammatory and oxidative load on brain cells. These compounds may also improve the signaling between neurons and increase the birth of new neurons. There is evidence that a diet rich in walnuts can be beneficial to your brain in the long run. We already know that walnuts are good for your cardiovascular system.

A functional medicine and chiropractic approach to cognitive health includes a serious evaluation of your diet and other lifestyle factors.
