Sugar and Cardiovascular Disease Mortality

Like the last post, this one deals with sugar and mortality, in this case, mortality from cardiovascular causes. A study published in the February 4, 2014 edition of JAMA Internal Medicine, found a marked increase in mortality in those individuals who derived more than 25% of their daily calories from added sugars compared to those who consumed fewer than 10% of their daily calories as added sugars. Up until now fat has been seen as the culprit in heart disease. You're going to start seeing more and more research and press on how sugars are the culprit and not fat.
